Depending on the circumstances, you might be able to translate the document yourself.However, performing the translation yourself incurs certain risks. Keep in mind that doing corrections of previously rejected translations by USCIS makes up a significant portion of the jobs we receive!

Rejections of translations will cost time, money, and potentially, lost deadlines which can be catastrophic to individuals and families alike. At a minimum, a rejected self-done translation will set back the process an average of six months!

It is advisable to use a disinterested third party that can legally attest under a sworn statement that your translation is done competently, completely, truthfully, and accurately by a translator fluent in both the source and target languages.

Having successfully translated THOUSANDS of documents for immigration, we are keenly aware of their requirements and preferences for all translations. Even if you do not use our services, we advise using only an experienced civil document translator.

Your translation is considered a CERTIFIED TRANSLATION. A certified translation in the U.S. consists of a translated document signed by the translator or an officer of the translation agency and notarized by a Notary Public. The translator signs a sworn statement attesting the translation having been done so truthfully, accurately, completely, and the translator who completed is competent to translate and fluent in both the source and target document languages. This part of the document is called the “Certificate of Translation”.

All documents are notarized translations, or in other words, perfectly legal translations for the U.S. government and most foreign governments as well.

The United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) routinely requests applicants for translations of theoriginal or certified copy of their marriage certificate or license. Sometimes, this is requested from employers for various reasons including, but not limited to application for health insurance. For people who marry abroad, it is important to translate any previous marriage certificates (along with other documents like divorce decrees, affidavit of single status, etc.) as well as translate the certificate you are given upon returning to the United States or Canada.

In many cases,USCIS will accept a scanned copy that is printed out, and a hard copy may not be necessary. Please check with your regional USCIS local office if this method interests you, otherwise, our default delivery is to mail out all translations using USPS first-class service.

Fees for delivery: Anything mailed out using USPS first-class postage is included in our translation pricing. If you are in the local Phoenix area, pick-up is an option at our notary’s office 8-6:30 p.m. weekdays and 9-3:00 p.m. on Saturday’s once the translation is complete. USPS priority mail with tracking in the continental U.S., is available at an additional cost of $13.00 and deliver usually in 1-3 days. Other express mail options are available upon request

This depends on our current work volume. Often throughout the year we do offer same-day service although a RUSH fee may apply. Feel free to call and ask!

On average, it takes from 2 – 4 days for smaller translation jobs to be completed not including the delivery time. If you need it sooner, please let us know when you need it in-hand to find out if expediting your job sooner is possible. A Rush-Services fee may apply.
